LOOKING AHEAD

PIANO FOR THE FUN OF IT: Learn to play by picture, ear and chords on a digital piano without reading music 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 4; convert songs to easy-to-play pictures and learn to read music 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 11. Class fee: $34 prepaid and $10 material fee in class, Grossmont College Room 224, 8800 Grossmont College Drive, park in Lot No. 1, El Cajon. To enroll: (619) 660-4350.

BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT: Sign up your team of four to compete for the March Madness Championship Title, 9 a.m. March 11 for ages 11 and over. $10 per player gets you a T-shirt and at least two games. Winners in each age group will receive an award, Chula Vista Youth Center, 465 L St. Pre-registration is required: (619) 691-5276.

LUNCH WITH BUNNY: Children and their parents are invited to visit a gentle bunny in Seeds of Wonder Children's Garden, 10 a.m.-noon March 26. Reservations: (760) 436-3036, Ext. 206, to register. Fee is $10 plus admission to Quail Botanical Gardens; adults $8, children $3, 230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas.

PARTY WITH THE ANIMALS: Celebrate your birthday at the San Diego Humane Society in a private decorated room. There's a two-hour educational program, animal-related games and crafts and a photo of the birthday person, who gets to pick three animals to come to the party. LAKESIDE REC CLUB: Free activities for middle schoolers and high schoolers.
