PUBLIC EYE'S WEEK IN REVIEW
Princes among men

August 24, 2008

Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell have made sure that the late Heath Ledger's daughter, Matilda, has financial security.

The triumvirate of do-gooders stepped in to complete Ledger's last film, “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus,” by playing different iterations of Ledger's character. They also donated their paychecks to Matilda, according to London tab The Sun and USAToday.com.

Director Terry Gilliam is well pleased by the boys.

“That's extraordinary! And wonderful.”

Ledger's colleagues were concerned because the Aussie left an old will that didn't include the girl.

NOT PRINCELY

Tom Arnold has completed a three-peat.

On Tuesday the actor's divorce from his third wife, Shelby Roos, was finalized. According to documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Arnold, whose marriage lasted just under five years, will pay Roos $15,000 a month in spousal support for 25 months.

None of Arnold's marriages has passed the five-year mark: He and Roseanne Barr were married from '90 to '94, while he and Julie Champnella gave wedded bliss a whirl from '95 to '99.

FORMER FLAME BURNED

Pop star Jessica Simpson has spoken out against country singer Carrie Underwood's claims that Underwood still keeps in touch with Tony Romo.

Underwood admitted she was having a hard time moving on after her split from Romo in 2006, when the pair broke it off and he moved on to Simpson. In the September issue of Allure, she insisted that Romo was equally keen to keep in touch, adding: “The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer.”

But Simpson is now taking a swipe at Romo's former flame, insisting that the sports star has never called her. She said during a radio interview: “I looked at his call log. Tony and I both laughed at that. We got a chuckle out of it.”
